Our Response

Letter we sent to The Stork, Pumpkin’s caseworker, girls’ adoption worker, and guardian-at-litem’s office.

Thank you so much for meeting with us and providing us with all the information you have shared regarding Zucchini and Carrot. We really appreciate the time we were given to digest all the information.

In short, we are not going to take placement of the girls at this time. However, if Pumpkin was added to the TPR**, then we would reconsider “saying yes” to the girls and be adoptive resources for Pumpkin, Zucchini, and Carrot. Unfortunately, we don’t know if that is going to happen so we have to say no.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Thank you,
Croi and Erat

**At this time, Zucchini and Carrot have been in the system longer than Pumpkin, and their case is separate from his. The court system is in the very beginning stages of Terminating Mom’s Parental Rights for Zucchini and Carrot. There is a possibility that Pumpkin will be added on to their case, and would progress on the same timeline. Or not. And he would stay his own case.

You know, I’m never so grateful for the crazy that my county/state offers until I read about someone else’s. Siblings are always on the same case. It’s a headache and there’s a lot of confusion, but if kids are in care, they’re on the plan. It makese sense. If she’s losing the first bunch, why on earth would there be a second case plan for the others? Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Good for y’all knowing your boundries and sticking to them.
