Can open. Worms everywhere.

Now it’s out there. And we speak the random thoughts in our head.

“We could take over the whole duplex and the girls could sleep upstairs.”

“Did you know it was X  hospital that ‘ruled out RAD’?  That hospital couldn’t treat strep throat.”

“We could use your tax refund to buy a minivan. No matter what happens, I am sure we’ll be transporting them somewhere.”

“Oldest girl’s name is a derivative of my brother’s name.”  “Yeah, that’s cool.”

“A normal 9 year old is nearly a teenager. She’s way older than 9.” “I’m not ready to parent a ‘normal’ teenager. Much less her.”

“Attachment issues–you know what that means?” “Yup.” SIGH.

As of right now, they are looking for a home for the two girls together.  We had about 15 minutes to make the decision about Pumpkin. Thankfully we have months to make this one.

Oh, wow. These conversations are so very familiar. We just had one yesterday about three litle boys. All the what-ifs roll around and there’s no stopping them. But I find the more we toss them about, the easier it seems the decisions are to make. And the surprises are less so, since we’ve already covered just about every other thing, hypothetically 😉
