This changes things

We weren’t feeling in a particular hurry to have a child in our home.  Pregnancy is nine months for a reason, and the original 60 day timeline to be a foster parent seemed a little quick. Then, we found out it would be more like 120 days and that seemed perfect.

We just found out our licensing date is Oct 7th.  That means, legally, the latest date we can have our license in our hot little hands is Oct 7th.

I’m expecting a phone call on the 8th.

Yesterday, our social worker was running a few potential scenarios by me. Trying to get an understanding what we are looking for.  After she left, I realized one of those scenarios was rather specific.  Wait, is there a specific child you are thinking of for us?

Because, if that’s the case, we are in a time crunch. And I am going to be pushing for that license a lot sooner.

Every day MY CHILD is with someone else is a day I don’t know what’s happening to him. Every day she is not in my home I don’t know how much love she is getting.

We better paint that nursery soon.

Get on it! You never know 🙂 Sometimes, just when you think you’ve got ’em all figured out, children’s services gets all on top of getting things done. Good luck!
