Darkness Cannot Drive Out Darkness

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr; one of my favorite quotations from him:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

So appropriate for so many forms of hate–hate against gay people, hate against fundamentalist Christians, fundamentalist any religion, hate against people with mental illness, homeless, unfortunately I could go on and on.

I have found myself getting swept up in some of the rhetoric lately. May this be a reminder of how I actually want to share my values with the world. And, my goal for this blog.
